Organised by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, the summit is gearing up to become a defining event for India’s liquefied natural gas sector with the central theme - ‘Unleashing LNG Growth Drivers: Open Policy, Infrastructure, CGDs, Transport, Industrial Sectors’.
Key Market Projections for gas industry in India:
- Morder Intelligence: India’s Natural Gas Market tunes to a volume of 77.40 thousand MMSCM in 2025. It is expected to reach 100.35 thousand MMSCM by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 5.33%
- International Energy Agency: India’s natural gas consumption is projected to increase by nearly 60%
- Indian Brand Equity Foundation: The government plans to increase the share of fuels in India’s primary energy mix from 6.7% to 15% by 2030
- Huge rise in investments of about USD 67 billion to upgrade and build new pipelines to import terminals and last-mile connections
- LNG import capacity to double by 2026 with an east-coast pipeline built-out and decarbonization incentives for steel, refining and petrochemicals
Mr Raj Manek, Executive Director & Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, expressed his thoughts as: “The LNG sector is at a critical juncture as we are talking to increase our share of natural gas in the energy mix to 15% by 2030 from current 6% according to the recent news sources. The government is pushing to increase the imports of LNG, the industry is expanding infrastructure, the policy momentum is there and a growing appetite for cleaner fuels is clearly the goal for India. I am proud to share that this platform offers a strategic link between the policymakers from government sector as well as private sector and discuss way-forward India’s greener future. LNG India Summit has always been a tool for growth but moreover a forward-looking initiative that supports its transition toward a more sustainable and globally integrated energy future.”
Compared to conventional fuels such as petrol and diesel, gas comes across as a much cleaner fuel. It has immense potential to catalyse mobility transition towards clean fuels till the electric ecosystem takes over, keeping emissions under control.
This year, the Summit will have two exhibitors, Ambetronics Engineers and Jindal Saw.
